Fall is quickly approaching, dress appropriately!

I recently came across this article on Runners World. It is a system to help you know what to wear….Is’nt that always a question when you head out to run in the heat or cold “What should I wear?”. The “What to Wear” app. takes care of all the decision making for you. It asks you questions like the temp outside and how you like to run (cool, neutral or warm). Then it gives you pictures just in case you do not know what a long sleeve tech tee looks like…haha. Might be a better app for guys but, it is fun to see what it has to say. If only they made one that said what to wear while pushing 80 lbs of kid up hills in a jogging stroller…hmmm, maybe next time ;)

Here is the Runners World App.

Warming Up & Cooling Down for Running

This is a great video brought to you by ING Runners Nation. A few new stretches and a few old ones to get you out and running….Click here to see what is recommended.

Is there anything that you would add? What is your favorite stretch? Mine is a leg swing or a raised bent leg straight up and then out to the side. That move stretches my hip flexor and quads . It helps loosen me up for the long distance or hills.

Enjoy,

Looking for that perfect baby stroller or acoustic guitar used? Have you checked out Ubokia?

Ubokia…..Are you scratching your head trying to think of what Ubokia means? Boeki means “trade” in Japanese. The folks at Ubokia call their site the “Utopia of trade”.

I recently had the honor of looking into their new site. Ubokia is similar to craigslist or e-bay. Have a “want” post it on Ubokia. Have something to sell? Post it on Ubokia…..Ubokia is a new buy and sell website that I think many of you would love. I have had a site dedicated to only selling strollers and have tried having Stroller Exchange Saturdays on Facebook but, they have never really worked. The reason being is “the reach”.  We were not able to get many listings all over the US. With Ubokia’s 200,000 membership base not only will your baby product be seen but, you might even find something you have been searching for.

Ubokia’s goal is to connect people with people, not a person with money to an item. This is why they have decided to do something brand new. Ubokia launched in November of 2011, and has been growing steadily ever since. With over two years of development, and a membership base of over 200,000 Ubokians since their launch, Ubokia is the largest and quickest growing “want-centric” ecommerce platform out there. With Ubokia, you simply have to ask, and you shall receive. It’s like having your very own potluck style garage sale.

Here is a recent ad I found on Ubokia for a used BOB Stroller. Looks like a great deal for the right person. If you do not like the price you can always negotiate it to something you do like. Happy Shopping :)

5 Ways to keep yourself motivated to run as told by Kerrie

For those of you that do not know, Joggermom is on Twitter. Back in July Kerrie from Mom Vs Marathon responded to one of my daily posts about keeping motivated. We started tweeting and next thing you know I am asking her to give me her top 5 ways to keep motivated to run when you just are not feeling it. This is what she came up with.

5 ways to keep yourself motivated to run:

 1. Have a plan & WRITE IT DOWN. Could be Couch to 5k or something else you came up w/, ie run 3 days/wk.#running #motivation

 2. Set out #running clothes the night before & put on ASAP in the morning. Hard to talk yourself out of it if your dressed.#motivation

 3. Download a fun podcast or a book you’ve wanted 2 read (I have seen Ryan Hall do this in a recent commercial). You’ll look forward to #running & listening. #motivation

4. Sign up for a race. Download a training plan. #running #motivation

5. Journal or blog & write what you see/feel when your #running. This kept me going. Every run = an adventure! #motivation

Kerrie has been an athlete all of her life. After having her first son she decided to set a goal of running a marathon. With inspiration from Julie & Julia (the movie) she set out to run a marathon and blog about her journey. Sharing different tid bits about her adventures along the way. You can find Kerrie’s blog here: Mom VS Marathon
