Running Log…Do you really need one?

How important is it for you to track your mileage?

I don’t really like having to write things down as I have enough to worry about without writing down my mileage and time too. But when it comes to my running, I will definitely make the sacrifice. Why? A running log is important on many levels. It helps you keep track of how many miles/minutes you are running a week. It helps you see trends in your training i.e. when you feel good, when you get tired, when you are running fast or slow, etc. If you want to improve your overall time and see where you have come from in running a running log is a must. Many of the moms in our Joggermom Marathon not only improved their time in our month long marathon they lost weight too! Continue reading “Running Log…Do you really need one?” »

Cancer Sucks…..

It is a scary time all around when you continue to hear how cancer has taken yet another life! I have for some time been an advocate of supporting breast cancer organizations. It is one way for me to give back to other women. I like to think I am  helping to find a cure before my daughter is old enough to figure out what cancer really is!

Foods to fuel you on race day

No one wants to fade out the last few miles

I recently came across an article written by Joanna Chodorowska who is a
nutrition coach, marathoner and Ironman Triathelete. As a marathoner myself I

Octobers Play list…”Change of Pace”

This month’s play list is a change from what I usually listen to when working out. I was inspired by the 2011 MTV Music Awards, of all things. Foo Fighters won an award and noted that Rock n Roll is not dead. By watching all the performances in that show, you surely think it might be. But one new band, Young the Giant, caught my ear and I’m digging some alt/indy rock these days. Hope you enjoy it too.

Change of Pace is Octobers new Mix.

Happy Trails,
